Libcamera doesn't appear to be finding my camera (Pi4 + HQ camera)

Post by /RaspberryPi »

I am little confused on how the whole camera thing works on the Pi. I purchases an HQ camera for my Pi4 to watch my 3d printer and take timelapse. When I attached the camera at first there was no camera showing up at all. I had ran the vcgencmd get_camera command and I got this supported=0 detected=0, libcamera interfaces=0.

After reading something about enabling legacy camera mode fixes the issue I did so. Now I am getting this output from vcgencmd. supported=1 detected=1, libcamera interfaces=0

What's the deal, why isn't libcamera seeing the camera?

Just to double check too I ran cam -l from the libcamera-tools package and it shows this:

[0:21:43.037435570] [3420] WARN IPAManager ipa_manager.cpp:154 No IPA found in '/usr/lib/aarch64-linux-gnu/libcamera' [0:21:43.038877247] [3420] INFO Camera camera_manager.cpp:299 libcamera v0.0.3 Available cameras: I am not sure what I am either not understanding or what I am missing.

Can someone shed some light on this for me?

I am not sure if it matters but I recently upgraded my stuff to Debian 12 (Bookworm) from Debian 11 (Bullseye).
