Is it safe to update or will it break something?

[Released: 2011] The 3DS is similar to the DS, but is capable of projecting stereoscopic 3D effects without the use of 3D glasses or additional accessories. A redesigned "XL" version of the console was also released.

Hello all, I have a modded 2DS and just got a notification pop-up that there is a update available and asks if I want to update it.

Is it safe to update or will it break something?
