S-Video Checkerboarding

Post by /n64 »

I am at a loss, I have tried a lot of things but every S-Video cable and console combination I have tried with my N64 has checkerboarding. Even have an official one. I am playing on a crt TV specifically this one.

I have no idea what is going on, I do know the TV uas no way to disable the comb filter if that is causing it. I have tried 2 n64's Funtastic Red and Charcoal Gray. But nothing works and would like to figure out with the issue is. Thanks to anyone who responds.

Update: After messing with the TV settings a bit thanks to a suggestion from another redditor it looks a lot better now. Still some minor artifacts (which is expected) but it seems to look much better. Prior to this configuration it was configured for composite which didnt help it seems. Thanks to anyone who was helpful in the comments, and the one who help me. Appreciate it.
