PC Engine is quite warm while using Turbo Everdrive Pro - is that okay?

I have a Turbonanza modded white PC Engine with a s-video connection to my CRT. Everything looks and sounds great, but after playing for a while, the PC Engine and Turbo Everdrive Pro are quite warm to the touch. Is that normal? I've been playing Rondo of Blood all day lol so maybe it's just CD games?
