Turbografx games on PC Engine flash cart?

I want to jump into the Turbografx /PC Engine ecosystem, and it looks like the cheapest way to play card games is importing a PCEngine and getting a Black gold flashcard from aliexpress. I see that the flashcard has a switch to pick which console it's inserted into, does the flash cart work around region locking? Am I able to load a mix of TG16 and PCE games and play with no issues?
