Front USB ports on ps classic have stopped working

So both controller ports have stopped working and don't recognize anything when i plug something into them. I was wondering if i could maybe still use the ps controllers via OTG hub connecting from the back of the console so that it will recognize my controller again? And of course also recognize my flashdrive which has autobleem installed. Would it work or would i have to use some kind of different specific software? Or is it just not possible without having those two controller ports working in the first place? Please let me know, I don't see anyone explaining this
