Game boy advance sp won’t charge

Game boy advance sp won’t charge

So I can still play games if it’s plugged in but it won’t stay charging. The red light comes on to show its charging but after a few minutes the light goes off. I pulled the battery out and it’s definitely bad so I’m gonna get a new one but I’m wondering if there’s anything else I should check. Thanks I’m advance
