N64 randomly resetting itself. Has this happened to anybody else?

[Released: 1996] The console's design was revealed to the public for the first time in late Spring 1994. The N64 console was frequently marketed as the world's first 64-bit gaming system and sold 500,000 units in North America during its first four months.

N64 randomly resetting itself. Has this happened to anybody else?

Post by /n64 »

Hi all. Yesterday I hooked my N64 up for the first time in a while. Maybe about 3 years or so. My son started playing a new game of Ocarina of Time, got through all the exposition and just as soon as he had control and started moving around the system reset. We started GoldenEye and it reset on us a few times but we were able to play some.
Has anybody else experienced this? The system is at least 25 and has never been exposed to extreme temps or humidity. I reseated the power supply thinking it may be loose but it still happened once or twice after.
Any ideas?
