Buy old snes or not?

[Released: 1990] The SNES was the best-selling console of the 16-bit era despite its relatively late start and the fierce competition it faced. The console was able to run some of the first three-dimensional video games on consoles, beginning with Star Fox.

Buy old snes or not?

Post by /snes »

Hi all,
I have been doubting if I should buy a regular snes. I am 36 and sold my snes when I was 9 for a ps1 and regretted at a later age. Luckily I was smart enough to keep all ps1-ps5 games and consoles and my old game boy collection.
I know about emulation but somehow it does not feel the same when you dont plug a cartridge. Also the upscaling image is not really authentic. I know about the analogue nt but that thing is really expansieve and I think this would look more like emulation since it is again an upscaled image.
What was the turning point for you to buy the regular snes again? I have been in a pawn shop today and was some snes but the were all yellow or beat up. And is playing on a crt really different than on a lcd tv?
