Halo elite controller left thumb stick clicking?

Went to use this today and suddenly when I push the left stick it "clicks" I don't have any drift yet but it's very... irritating? It doesn't actually press l3 when it's broken. Do I just deal with it or do a warranty claim? I can't believe the controller did this it's got 8 hours of use on it tops
