Are PS1 lightgun games any fun playing with regular controllers?

Hello! As the title says, I'm wondering whether or not PS1 lightgun games are any fun not playing with lightguns, but instead playing with the PS Classic controllers.
As I've been planning my line-up for my modded PS Classic games, I keep finding really intriguing looking lightgun titles that I really want to play. Those so far being Point Blank, Ghoul Panic, Elemental Gearbolt and Rescue Shot. I know I wouldn't be getting the greatest experience ever playing these titles this way, but would it be such a damper that it wouldn't be worth it to include them at all? I'd love to hear your guy's thoughts!
