What are your guys opinions on the Neo Geo CD?

I bought one a while ago and I think its ok. Most people complain about the load times which is a huge issue for the console and the PS1 and Saturn released shortly after it and they both handled 2D fighters better with faster loading. Do you guys think the console was a mistake on SNKs part since more superior hardware got released shortly after and even had some SNK games on them? I know that the Neo Geo CD existed as a cheaper alternative to the AES but still. I don't really mind the loading, but I heard newer games on the console had worse loading. A funny thing I heard someone call the console was that the Neo Geo CD is a great console if you are a patient person lol.
