I'm debating on an IPS screen swap...

[Released: 2004] The PSP is the only handheld console to use an optical disc format as its primary storage medium. Other distinguishing features of the console include its large viewing screen and robust multi-media capabilities.

Those of you with IPS screens, do you have the 1000 or 500 brightness version and why did you choose it? I've heard the 500 version seems more like the original LCD but without the ghosting and tearing. I also heard the 1000 version is obviously a lot brighter and crisper, but considerably lowers battery life. I can't make up my mind on what I want to do in this situation, so any advice and/or opinions will be much appreciated!
