Thrifted Phat 360 very noisy, does it need maintenance?

[Released: 2005] As the second console from Microsoft, the XBOX 360 completely sold out upon release in all regions except in Japan. About 33% of all consoles became defective making it the most unreliable console ever created.

I recently found a complete system at a thrift store. It seems to work just fine, plays games etc… but the console sounds like it’s about to achieve liftoff during use.
Is this normal or is there some type of maintenance I can perform?
It’s a phat model with HDMI running at 14.2 amps.
