Help Please

So recently I went to my dads house and brought my Xbox 360 with me so we could play some games, and for some unknown reason, when I plugged it into the tv with a HDMI, there was no signal AT ALL, I had tried everything, I checked connections, tried other HDMI cables, I tried resetting display settings, I tried swapping the HDMI port on the tv, checked I was on the correct source, but nothing.
I popped back to my mums house to test it, it was now working fine, the signal was working, I don't understand cuz the resolution of my dads tv is the same as every other tv I tried it on which was 1080p.
So in short, for some reason it doesn't seem to work on my dads tv, are there any solutions to this?
