Question about game cartridge batteries

[Released: 1989] The Game Boy is Nintendo's second handheld system following the Game & Watch series. Despite many other technologically superior handheld consoles introduced during its lifetime, the Game Boy was a tremendous success.

Question about game cartridge batteries

Hello, I was given a copy of Metroid Fusion, however, my friend told me that the game doesn't save anymore. Would replacing the game cart battery resolve this issue?
