upgrading Xbox SATA HDD - need help understanding

upgrading Xbox SATA HDD - need help understanding

I'm looking into upgrading to a 2TB Western Digital WD20EURX HDD. I understand what a master and slave HDD is however I don't understand the comparability of it all. from what I understand now it seems that this particular drive can't switch between master and slave. do these drives automatically switch? are they straight up incompatible? any help appreciated thanks.
