A concept for replacing the hdd with little to no softmodding.

[Released: 2001] The Xbox was Microsoft's first video game console after collaborating with Sega to port Windows CE to the Dreamcast console and was the first console offered by an American company after the Atari Jaguar stopped sales in 1996.

A concept for replacing the hdd with little to no softmodding.

Post by /xbox »

I'm in the process of refurbishing my original xbox, and I have already removed the clock capacitor. I know I will have to replace the hdd soon, and I know that the drives are locked with a special key provided by the epprom. I do not want to soft mod because I'm trying to keep the original os, so here is a list of concepts that may, or may not work(if they don't please let me know) : Option A: hook up the drive to another computer, and hope I can get the key off of it, then duplicate the drive to another drive Option B: soft mod it temporarily to unlock/get the e prom key, and duplicate it to another drive. Option C: What ever you guys come up with in the comment section.
