Imported PAL games on NTSC Playstation 1?

[Released: 1994] Sony entered into an agreement with Nintendo to develop a CD-ROM attachment, for the Super Nintendo. Due to contractual problems it was never released, and instead, a modified version was introduced by Sony called the PlayStation.

Imported PAL games on NTSC Playstation 1?

I know this has probably been answered several times already but I couldn't really find anything definitive about it.
So, are there any specific issues that arise when playing PAL titles on a modded Playstation 1? Things like display issues or incorrect rendering or something like that?
