I’m having some issues setting up my master system

[Released: 1985] One of the most unusual features of the Sega Master System is its dual media inputs: one cartridge slot and one card slot. The card slot accepted small cards about the size of a credit card.

Is there a way to check if the master system is turned on because In don’t know if I’m just being stupid or it is broken, when I’m trying to find the channel for the master system it doesn’t find it, I’ve tryed multiple times, with the console turned on.
