Question about the n64 Controller

Question about the n64 Controller

The analog stick on my controller is really really sensitive. It makes it excruciatingly difficult to do the simplest maneuvers on platformers such as DK64 or Banjo. Are all controllers like this? Mine is not an original controller so I’m wondering if I just need to buy a better controller or is that just the nature of the beast with this console.
