Is there anyway to adjust brightness?

Is there anyway to adjust brightness?

I'm trying to play through the original Tomb Raider games, but some parts of the levels are so dark it's practically unplayable.
My TV brightness is cranked all the way up, but that doesn't help. There also doesn't appear to be anyway to adjust brightness in-game or in RetroArch - does anyone know if there's a solution?
