Guide to light-gun gaming?

Hi,
I've had a quick search but not come up with an exact guide to work off. I'm really wanting to play Time Crisis and Die Hard Trilogy (die harder) on my PS Classic. I've seen multiple posts about using either a mouse (which sounds like it might be plug and play? but I lack a USB mouse to test) or by setting up a Wii Remote and Bar (I have both of those) which sounds like a better experience.
So firstly, has anyone seen a guide to this? and/or can confirm this is worth perusing :)

PS I do own both games and a Predator 2 Light gun with foot pedal... but lack a CRT :(
