I have the adafruit RGB bonnet and a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B... can't fit bonnet onto the gpio pins

I have the adafruit RGB bonnet and RPI4 Model B. The 4 PoE pins are getting in the way of putting the bonnet onto the pi. Are they not meant to be compatible? Can I also just snip the 4 PoE pins to get them out of the way since I do not use them?
