While the DualSense controller is an impressive bit of kit and certainly a worthy evolution of the DualShock 4, PS5 players who play competitive first-person shooters and battle royale games may prefer a more custom gamepad solution, one that features backpaddles, trigger stops, and other gameplay-enhancing features. As there’s no official “PS5 pro controller,” third parties have had to step in to fill the void.
[h=2]Where to buy custom PS5 controllers[/h]Custom PS5 controllers are available from:
These sites all offer customization options that change how the PS5 controller looks and, most importantly, how it performs.
Arguably the most impactful upgrade is the backpaddle add-on. These can be a game-changer for first-person shooters where users can benefit from jumping and adjusting their aim while shooting. This type of maneuverability would normally be limited to “claw-grip users,” but backpaddles make it much easier and put less strain on the wrist.
Another upgrade, trigger stops, prevent the triggers from going past the actuation point. This makes it easier to rapidly fire semi-automatic weapons in-game.
[h=2]How to make your own custom PS5 controllers[/h]To make your own custom PS5 controllers, you would first need to be okay with voiding the warranty on your DualSense. It’s very possible that you will break something while trying to customize it and you do so at your own risk.
For those who have acknowledged the risks involved, the eXtremeRate Amazon store is the place to go.
EXtremeRate offers a programmable remap kit for the DualSense, complete with an upgrade board, back shell, and four back buttons. There are many different colors available, including some transparent options that are a cool retro throwback.
