Trying to find a game from my childhood.

So, we had a Sega Genesis when I was a kid, and we only had two games for it. One was Sonic 2, but the other I cannot remember the title of, and haven't been able to find since. We got rid of the Genesis when I was about 5 or 6, so the details are a bit fuzzy. I remember it being a 2D platformer. The player character was a red robot guy, who looked kinda like Orbot from the newer Sonic games, just with legs. The only plot stuff I remember was that the antagonist had stolen all the stars out of the sky, and the robot had to run around finding orbs with stars in them in each level. If anyone knows what this could possibly be, that would be great.
