New release of heliocron - a command line application that integrates with cron to trigger commands at times relative to sunr

Post by /RaspberryPi »

I've just published the latest version of heliocron, which is a lightweight command line application capable of working with cron to trigger commands at certain times related to the movement of the sun.
The original inspiration was to use it to fade LED lights on and off inside a bird nestbox.
The latest release fixes some errors that were present previously when working with far off time zones and also adds a new command `poll` which will tell you if it is currently `day`, `night`, `civil_twilight`, etc.
Hopefully some of you can find a use for it, and I'd be very interested to hear of any interesting use cases, ideas for features and certainly any bugs that may appear.
