Pi Zero W Remapping PL011 UART

Post by /RaspberryPi »

I have an application where I need a serial port (ideally two) and WiFi, but have no use for Bluetooth. My understanding is I can remap the PL011 UART from the Bluetooth/WiFi module to pins 14/15, but while everything says you lose BT if you do so, much of what I've read has been vague on the effect if any on WiFi.
If you disable BT and remap the UART, does it affect WiFi at all? The BCM43438 datasheet seems to show them as completely separate interfaces.
