Did I just fry my system?

I tried to install retroboot on my ps classic, and I did what the instructions told, I put the usb drive on the second port, plugged the power and...Nothing, just one red blink, and that's it.
I removed the drive and tried to turn it on, still nothing, one red blink. My TV's usb port is 5v, so it should work just fine.
