[Help] Permissions on Raspbian SMB Share

Post by /RaspberryPi »

Image Hello Raspberry Pi community,
I have a question: I have my music on an external HDD (formatted as exFat) connected to my Raspberry Pi running Raspberry PI OS. Now I have made an SMB share with editing the following to the bottom of: sudo nano /etc/samba/smb.conf
[torrentshare]
path = /mnt/share/downloads/torrents
Browseable = yes
Writeable = yes
only guest = no
create mask = 0777
directory mask = 0777
Public = ye
Guest ok = yes
Afterwards I ran the command:
sudo systemctl restart smbd
Now I would like to connect my iTunes library to this External HDD running on my Raspberry PI server. But I feel like I have no rights when I try to move a file over it's not possible. No error nothing just a circle with a line that I'm not allowed to copy anything over.
I'm also connected as a guest.... and I have file sharing on on the Macbook (see screenshots below).
I'm not using it for torrents btw it's just named like this because the tutorial had it named like that who cares for the names anyways I just wanna listen to my music.
Would appreciate if anyone can help me out =)!
