In need of help installing a 3rd party usb Wi-Fi dongle on my 3b+ (complete newbie)

Post by /RaspberryPi »

I have researched for hours in trying to replace the onboard Wi-Fi with a dongle I purchased to no avail. I am a complete newbie to Linux as well, so a lot of the instructions I have read are filled with Linux specific jargon that I do not understand. The OS I am running is Buster, because the program I am attempting to use only works on Buster as well.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
