Wi-Fi Dongle only works through an unpowered USB Hub

Post by /RaspberryPi »

I'm currently setting up a little temp/humidity/pressure monitor using an old Pi Zero (v1.3). I've got all the code working, but upon getting it set up headless I realized that the USB Wi-Fi adapter only works when it's going through an unpowered hub. If it's connected directly to the Pi (using a OTG dongle) the system doesn't recognize it on boot. Any ideas?
