How to load remap file for n64 controller games???

How to load remap file for n64 controller games???

I'm on retroarch 1.7.7 and when I go to load remap file for the controller....I dont see the options for the n64 fps or normal mode like I use to on previous retroarch build. Is this just not the way anymore? Or am I missing something when I updated
