Remove default Bilinear filtering from default emu permanently.

I searched for this but everything seems to be three years old. Is there a fresh method to do this by ftp-ing into the system and changing some values? I've got Project Eris installed and replaced the internal games but it'd like the ability to run the console without anything plugged in and enjoy the games in it without the filtering.
I did try the select+triangle settings but bilinear filtering persists as it seems I can only double the resolution. Nothing I select ever looks as sharp and crisp as going through RetroArch with bilinear filtering set to 'off'.
