Usb switch for quick pi backups

Post by /RaspberryPi »

Im running a pi on an ssd. I’m aware that you can run auto backups on your pi over WiFi, but I usually just shut off my pi and copy the files over to my Mac which gets time machine backups.
I’m wondering if you can use a usb 3.0 switch to swap the hard drive without unplugging it. Will it be able to handle the constant stream of data or do people think it’ll end up causing latency?
