Raspberri Pi as bluetooth audio transmitter

Post by /RaspberryPi »

I have a TV and cant use it with speakers at night because of family, I want to be able to use the existing Pi I have + the existing wired headsets I have (additionally wired headsets are way cheaper than wireless)

I want to use my Pi to transmit the audio over bluetooth to a receiver

Most likely this one ^

Below is a diagram of my Pidea (incase I completely failed to explain what im trying to do):

I am having difficulty finding any straightforward information if I can just pair it with any bluetooth audio reciever as my concern is it looks like all the receivers are just meant to work with phones, additionally I would need the ability to use it as a normal desktop too so I cant use any special built web panel/command line only OS.

I got very little experience with doing any of this so any Info would be greatly appreciated. I would think that there are pre programmed bluetooth profiles for speaker and reciever devices but I thought it would be best to ask first before I go and buy a bunch of stuff.
