Neo Geo CD - No image

Hey folks, I was able to find a supposedly immaculate Neo Geo CD from Japan but it turns out the unit does not output image. How can I diagnose the source of the problem and how can I replace it?
I am hoping it's not something overly complicated or "just give up," as sh*tty as the loading times were, it sadly has a soft spot in my childhood memories. Thank you.
