Retrotink 2x and Gen 1

[Released: 1988] The Sega Genesis was Sega's most successful console; though Sega has never released a total sales figure quote. Several add-ons were created including the Sega CD and Sega 32X which extended its capabilities.

Retrotink 2x and Gen 1

Post by /genesis »

I’m working with a Gen 1 Genesis and a 2x. I’m able to get video via the composite cable but no audio. If I unplug the video, I get audio.
I’ve connected it through a VCR’s composite inputs and directly to the 2x with no change in behavior. I can connect it directly to the tv and get both audio and video. I’ve also tried three different av cables.
I’ve also tried to use the headphone jack as a secondary audio source. I see the same behavior using the headphone jack. (Video and no audio - unplug video and get audio)
It’s very odd. I’d like to able to take advantage of the 2x with the genesis but am at loss. Any thoughts?
